Doing Business in San José Workshop on ADA

“The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance and Accessibility” was the featured topic of the Doing Business in San José workshop organized by work2future's BusinessOwnerSpace.com (BOS) partnership at the Seven Trees Community Center on Wednesday, August 30. Dania Alvarenga of Alvarenga Law, provided the 21 attendees with an overview of several key areas in ADA compliance, accessibility, and liability for small businesses. Representatives from the Small Business Development Center, the City’s Small Business Ally and Finance Department also introduced their services. The next workshop will be scheduled on September 28 at Dr. Robert Cruz - Alum Rock Branch Library. This monthly re-occurring workshop features a new small business topic to build on the previous success of the series, now in its second year. By rotating topics and locations, and by providing assistance to limited-English speakers, the City is ensuring that small businesses have access to the wide variety of no-cost services available through the BusinessOwnerSpace.com collaboration. Limited-English speaking businesses can also receive services through BusinessOwnerSpace.com or by calling 877-880-1222 which incorporates both web and phone translation services.
