The centerpiece of the mission of
work2future
is to support employers in meeting their workforce development
needs. In implementing this mission,
work2future's
Board has approved, subject to
the availability of funds, dedicating a portion of the organization's training
budget to support employer-driven training programs in these six key
industries:
Retail,
Software,
Healthcare,
Hospitality-Tourism,
Bio-Science
and
Financial
Services
As part of this policy and with the purpose of creating employer-driven projects
that promotes long-term employment at livable wages,
work2future
will use, subject
to the availability of funds, the following strategies: On-the-Job Training
(OJT) and Customized Training (CT)
On-the-Job Training (OJT)
The purpose of this program is to provide reimbursements to employers to
compensate for the employer's extraordinary costs associated with training newly
hired employees of the company. The OJT program can enable you to hire good
employees whose skills can be upgraded to meet your needs. The benefit to you
would be a wide group of workers to choose from in the initial hiring process,
with the assurance that they will attain the skill level needed during their
On-the-Job Training.
Customized Training (CT)
The purpose of this program is to provide reimbursements to employers to assist
with certain expenses associated with skills upgrade training to bridge the gap
between the participant's initial skill level and the skill level required to
benefit the committed employer(s). Employers can use the Customized Training
program to train people in the specific skills needed for their occupations. If
training in your industry's skills is not readily available locally, then the
Customized Training program can help you train a group of people to meet your
specific needs. The benefit to you would be a custom-trained group of workers
ready to be hired into your company.
