The San Jose Job Corp offers low- income people (16-24), training
in 25 different vocations. GED and high school diploma courses,
as well as assessments, counseling, recreation, meals, a stipend,
a clothing allotment, school-to work opportunities and placement
for grads are some of the available services available at

Financial Literacy
The City of San Jose through
work2future
and Silicon Valley/South Bay SAVES programs on Financial Literacy
helps families in the community understand the basics of savings
plans, managing money, debt management, building good credit,
building a financial base and developing financial goals.
Helping low and moderate-income communities as well as young
people in our diverse county achieve financial independence
through Workshops, referrals, and resource information so
they can better reach their financial goals and build wealth
for their future.

National Level
Adult Education and Literacy Program
The Program
helps American adults get the basic skills they need to be
productive workers, family members and citizens. The major
areas of support are Adult
Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education and English Language
Acquisition. These programs emphasize basic skills
such as reading, writing, math, English language competency
and problem solving.

of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
The Housing and Urban Development
Department carries out several employments and training programs
aimed at significantly increasing employment and income of
public housing residents in selected cities.

Indian
and Native American Employment Programs
The purpose of the American
Indian Employment Program is placement of Indians and Native
American job seekers in the best available jobs. The program's
goal is to achieve economic independence for your community
through long-term employment, education and training. The
targeted service population includes American Indians, Native
Hawaiians, and Alaskans.
